GE Money ppi rebuff
Comments
-
Trying to claim PPI from underwriter (Aviva). the complaint has been with the FOS for almost three years and if was FOS who suggested the underwriter route as it was pre 2005. It was a single premium on top of loan.
Received a letter today from Aviva asking me to complete a questionnaire and saying they need more information to determine if they are responsible for the sale of PPI. they say at this point the matter is currently logged as an enquiry but should the questionnaire establish Aviva's responsibility to investigate they will change this to a complaint and at that point the eight week investigation period will commence.
Any thoughts on this?

Wrote to Cigna (underwriter) and, although the FOS also contacted them they say they are not responsible as they didn't actually 'sell' the policy. So back to GE and the FOS then. As expected the buck is starting to be passed, no great shock. I'll bug the hell out of them and eventually they will pay to get rid.0

i doubt that will work, they are not conerned as they are not under FOS jurisdiction. they have already issued a response, so any other complaint you make you are just going to get a duplicate complaint letter.
but i've just read in your first post about it you said the ppi was sold by a broker. so GE are not the seller of the PPI anyway. so you are chasing the wrong firm.
Why do you feel it was mis-sold? not all ppi was mis-sold,. so just becuase you had it doesnt mean its mis-sold.0 -
Roonaldo, do you work for one of these finance companies? Frankly, and I have eluded to this before, you never have anything positive to say. It always 'you can't' 'it won't work' etc. Do me a favour and don't respond to any of my posts anymore. You may see your 'advice' as helpful. I don't. I've done considerable legwork looking into the legalities and various other aspects of my case. People come to these forums looking for positive, pro-active advice. From what I can see all you do is put down any efforts people make.0

If you have a problem with a certain poster in this way, the best thing to do is to use the "Ignore" function.Roonaldo, do you work for one of these finance companies? Frankly, and I have eluded to this before, you never have anything positive to say. It always 'you can't' 'it won't work' etc.
There is nothing in the rules of this forum that state replies must be
"positive and pro-active". They are simply the opinion of the other poster; good or "bad".
In my experience, Roonaldo tells it how it is, not how you may want it to be.
In his last post, he tells you you are chasing the wrong firm. Would it be "proactive" of him to just encourage you to "bug the hell out of them so that they eventually pay to get rid"?
I doubt it would.
I'll leave Roonaldo to reply further if he has a mind to.0 -
The complaint is against the broker. Not the lender. However, mortgage regulation didnt start until October 2004 and insurance regulation not until 2005. So, there may be no-one to complain to.My mum took a mortgage out with a diffrent company in 2004, she was making payments on a regular basis, it then got took on by g e money where my mum seems to believe there was a large sum of money added to her sub total, i, now going threw all of her paper work to try and find this misstake, has anyone else found this problem with g e money ?
Roonaldo has given the correct information.Roonaldo, do you work for one of these finance companies? Frankly, and I have eluded to this before, you never have anything positive to say. How about option-
a- You get a cheque in the post in 4 weeks. You go to the Caribbean.
b - The sale of your PPI involves a broker that went bust. A lender who for this sale are not under FOS jurisdiction. FSCS cant help. You are stuck.
You are not making a complaint to a highstreet bank like lloyds that just going to roll over and pay out. Come back in 1 year time and tell us how far you have got.
I wasnt try to get anyones back up, i'll try to be more polite in the future.0 -

To you all, you obviously don't understand what I have said. If you want to be negative that's up to you. Frankly you seem to have nothing better to do than be know-it-alls belittling anyone looking for assistance and patting each other on the back. It won't take me a year, I'll wager I get the payout much sooner than that. I won't be looking on here again, I have what I need. Have fun putting down more people and basking in your own self importance.0

I think it's you who are failing to understand and it's a pity you won't be posting here again to tell us how you've "bugged the hell out of them so they paid to get rid".To you all, you obviously don't understand what I have said.
This forum is full of posters who prefer to inform rather than just encourage. You may find it unhelpful, others are grateful for the honesty.
You've been told that your current situation is hopeless and I hope you prove us all wrong; but do remember that we aren't the reason you won't have success!0
