Generally sought-after consultants are those with a lot of industry experience, not people with a couple of years junior experience.0 -

He's only twenty six and hasn't the experience or contacts to do this yet, the reason he earns so much is a combination of the mining boom and the fact that the Aussie dollar is so strong, in normal times the exchange rate would be over two to the pound, and the salary would then equate to say thirty five grand.
If the OP is returning to the UK then exchanging to sterling soon could be a good option, if unsure then changing a percentage could act as a hedge.0 -
Atush - yes if his Aus residency is important to him you are right that he needs to carry on working in Aus ... but that does not presumably have to be in the same role? maybe the same employer i am not sure .... i was seeking to encourage the OP to look around him within his workplace/company/industry and think about where he wants to be rather than just jack it in and go to Tescos ...0
