How much to fit a kitchen?

How much should it cost to rip out and fit a new kitchen?
16 cupboards, all work tops, move the gas hob to the other side of the room, new sink and dishwasher to plumb in and a few floor tiles to do.
I have no idea.

Do the cupboards need to be made up or do they come ready assembled?
This would save a lot of time!
You could also keep the cost down by removing the old wall and floor cabinets etc - you might want to leave the sink in till the last minute!
Is there a gas connection on the other side of the room? If not you will need a CORGI guy in the move this and this could be floorboards up.
I take it the sink and plumbing is staying in the same place?
A few floor tiles - how large is the room?0 -

I'm in the process of having a 10 unit kitchen fitted, 'U' shaped so 2 worktop cuts, sink & hob in roughly the same place with a custom built cupboard to cover boiler. Had loads of people round to do quotes, some of whom didn't even bother to quote! The quotes I did get ranged from 1375 - over 2500.... we ended up with taking the cheapest, but the main reason he was cheapest was because he is not VAT registered.... seems to be doing a good job so far... we are in Surrey where everything seems to cost twice as much as anywhere else!
Forgot to say - I ripped the old kitchen out, built the units up and will be doing all the boxing in at the end, which saved a couple of day labour to pay for0 -
getting mine done for £150 a day carpenter who builds all the show kitchens for ikea. ill do donkey work he'll just fit!

Bit of variation then.
The cupboards are built but no doors etc. He will be taking out the old kitchen and removing it. The room is 3 and 1/2 M by 4M and because it's a big old house the plaster isn't great. There is also about 6 squre meters of wall tiles to go up.
The gas pipe will need moved around and so will most of the electrics.
Thanks everyone.FREE THE WM30 -
Depends totally on where you go for the units.MFI or the like would be about £15,000-£20,000 all in,other places can be even more expensive, the average fully fitted one from magnet would be about £20-30 thousand or you could go for a top range designer kitchen for over £100,000 but if you go to IKEA like we did you can get a new kitchen, appliances, tiling, flooring, all electrical and fitting work for about £5,500(7x5.5m room in victorian house so old uneven walls like yours too).Like I said though it totally depends on the finish and the material you choose for the units and worktop.Local independant kitchen companies can be good value too and are generally better to deal with for a total package including fitting, also more possibility of working out a deal with the smaller guy.Re-use or sell whatever is salvagable.Kitchen taps can be expensive and someone might well buy your old ones or even your old kitchen sink.I have seen people sell entire kitchens on ebay specifying that the buyer must remove the kitchen themselves.Worth thinking about?"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

Ikea kitchens are !!!!!!, MFI kitchens are overpriced, stop going to major showrooms and pick a local kitchen firm who is not tied to one manufacturer he will source the cabinets, worktops etc based on a general design brief. he will have accounts set up which entitle him to discounts and you wont be calling a call centre if something goes wrong.0
