Does anyone have any idea how much it costs to join AA at roadside after breakdown OR to upgrade from roadside to relay at roadside? Ta
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Often on the back of the tabloids you can get AA roadside cover for
(as advertised) £29 with a £15 voucher for high street shops.

I did it last year and got also free a years emergency home cover.
Ive used this twice this year.

I'm just about to cancel AA and go with RAC for a discounted amount. I'll use them for a year and go back to AA.

As for upgrading, you could ask them when you ring to get the cover.

Do you know the AA are usually very good for discounting their renewal quote if you phone them?

I always check what the new member cost would be on the website for the options I have and ask them to reduce my renewal amount to match it. I've never been refused.

I've been with them for 12 years because of that.

I had to add on homestart to my membership in an emergency a couple of months ago. Cost me about £55, of which I think £20 was the homestart fee and the rest the 'emergency' fee for doing it only when I needed it.
Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.

I phoned up for an AA recovery a couple of months ago.

For a little 125cc scooter to be taken 25 miles.

They wanted the yearly premium of 89 quid plus
    around 130 for 'immediate service'

Told them where to stick it.

You're doing it wrong! You don't want them to just match a new customer rate, you want a discount for being a loyal customer. Try it, they will reduce it even more, at least they did for us!

You can get AA basic cover for as little as £9 now .

If you wanted to add relay when required it depends on distance they are going to have to take you.

I had to join the RAC at the roadside a couple of years ago, from memory it cost £54 and you can pay on card. I think with them they give you the same deals as if you walk up to them in the van and sign up - they presumably get commission from it as the repairman had a spiel about what good value it was.
