Mono Mixer Tap-Repair or Replace

I've had problems with my kitchen mono mixer taps. When turning the lever to hot water it was only trickling out. I undid the screw and had a look at the lever which was very worn and corroded. I put back and used but no improvement. (Although cold was ok) But then after trying again the lever went slack when pulling up to open and no water comes out either hot or cold.

There are mono mixer taps that look like mine on the internet for about £20 should I buy one of these?

Thanks

We had to replace ours last year. Original came from Homebase with kitchen and was pricey. Now have an older lever type from Ebay for £18. The only problem we had was getting it to fit right way round due to bolts being in different place, so we put it on backwards and that means that tap is a push it on rather than a pull it on. It is also not so subtantial as previous one, but for now I can live with it. Better than no water or drip getting worse. Esp when water metered. Otherwise a little research about make etc and you should be fine.

There are quite a number of mono mixer tap cartridges available, all slightly different in size or shape, and they are all tap/taps specific. So unless you've still got the original literature that came with the tap or you want to take the cartridge out, measure it, and spend ages trying to find an equivalent replacement, it's far quicker & easier to replace the whole tap. Sounds cheaper too, a lot of these replacement cartridges are IRO £40 - £50 sometimes more.

I think I'd be checking that there isn't an obstruction in the feeds before just changing the tap.
