  • Sounds like a nightmare, SFG, my sympathies :( I will sign your petition in a sec.

Also going through redundancies, which is why I've been quiet this month... been too low to really keep on top of my finances this month... keep treating myself to things (nice food mainly) to try and make myself feel better! Nowhere near target. Hopefully July will be better.

Have interview for my job on Tuesday, however, it's not the same job I've been doing as there's so many changes afoot. Am applying for external jobs but not getting anywhere. Am stressing as if I get to keep a job with my current employer I will have to travel a lot more, and it looks as if they will make my base further away, meaning my personal mileage will be a lot higher, meaning I won't be able to claim much on my expenses, which will effectively be a pay drop because of all the non-reimbursed travel costs. My finances are on a knife edge already, I can't afford to lose any money. I already work a second job, have cut back on all unneccessary bills, live off the basics ranges etc. People keep saying a job is better than no job, but it doesn't feel like it if that job means I will have to give up my flat and my friends (in terms of seeing them less) and move back in my with parents 35 miles away :'( I know it could be worse, I could have no fall back option, but at age 30 it would be a real kick in the teeth to move back home after years of living independently.

Got work stuff hanging over me this weekend (work to do, as well as interview to prepare for, as well as second job shift), but will see if I can at least get a couple of things up for sale on FB.

Thank you Aesop for the tip about ink cartridge recycling, I have just finished one, that's £3 apparently :) The website you gave a link to reminded me I still have about 5 old mobile phones to get rid of, which I must do. It's just time consuming faffing about and getting all my old photos off them etc. Still, no point having them in the house cluttering up the place when I can get a little bit of money for them.

Hi folks, Bit off topic, but I know how lovely you all are on here and how supportive you were when I told you of my redundancy threat. We are under "consultation" at the moment, and have been told nothing, other than the unions are involved, BA who own us don't want any bmibaby staff (they will take Bmi mainline staff however!!), and we will get the basic legal redundancy package (peanuts). We also, cannot apply for any jobs till september (when consultation period ends), as they say we wouldn't get our redundancy pay.

Would you kind folks please sign our petition for fair treatment and to try and save our jobs? We need 11000 signatures before the government will listen.

    Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!
