I decided to jump ship myself in the window iii offered, more because of the chance of avoiding the hundreds of pounds they would otherwise charge in the future to transfer out my various shareholdings. I am now almost, but not completely transferred over to XO.

I have been told recent dividends will be swept across in 2 weeks when they do a run. I assume accounts will be automatically closed after that (if all outstanding dividends have been paid).

Thanks, Miller. In my case I did a couple of trades in my iii account after requesting the transfer to XO. The new holdings have not yet transferred across, and neither has the cash balance. I don't mind having an iii account still open so long as they are not charging me for it.
  • I suggest you all buy equities asap to benefit from the boom that's bound to happen over the 10 days or so that I'm out of the market.

Hope you took the tip. My holdings would now be 2% up on when I sold.

But I did get my £20 refund. Look after the pennies and the pounds evaporate.

I'm leaving iii but the CPW dividend was actually due to be paid on 3 August, so it looks that they did it on time..

    Hi All,

I changed to X-O from III but just was told that foreign stock holdings in USD and EURO cannot be transferred to their account.

Anyone which self select ISA is best choice for low frequency trade (1-2 trades every 2-3 months) that accepts USD and Euro holdings?

    Many thanks

Account finally transferred to iWeb, took a while but transfer completed without any quarterly charge being imposed. Shame iii are adding quarterly charges, I was quite happy with their service oherwise.

I use TD Direct (http://www.tddirectinvesting.co.uk/choose-an-account/trading-isa/our-trading-isa/ ), who cost more per trade than X-O but at your volume it's not a huge amount of pounds in the grand scheme of things - they offer a wider range of investments including plenty of international markets, and aren't 'funny' about UK listed foreign currency stocks (there is a particular one that costs me a telephone dealing charge with sippdeal but will go though on an online limit order with TD no problem). The buy and sell price often beat the headline market quotes which can save you more than the difference in dealing charge.

Never tried a foreign stock transfer in though, and for buys and sells under megabucks, note the forex spread at 2% over midprice is wider than some.

If you have your total ISA balance with them over £5100 by the time the end of May rolls around, they waive the annual ISA admin fee. Alternatively if you're investing outside an ISA, you avoid all inactivity fees if you do one trade per calendar quarter.

Overall I'm a happy customer ; good phone support and the iphone/android trading and monitoring app are also pluses for me, compared to some cheaper competitors .

    Hi,

My transfer from ii to iWeb has been completed, except for some delisted shares I had in my ii account. Neither part has informed me that, supposedly, you can't transfer delisted stock until, once the transfer has been completed I inquired about them been left behind.

iWeb washes its hands of it.

And ii gives me two options: relinquish them (that is, leave them to them as a gift, even if they have little or no value) or pay £20 for a certificate.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation or has any advice?

    Many thanks.
