It does seem similar that's why i am moving to them, a couple of differences to note though, they are more limited to what you can buy i.e share wise just the ftse 100, also they charge £1.5 for DRIP's II charge 1%0 -
Thanks for the responses to my questions.
Regarding basic stockbrokers... am I right in thinking that as they don't deal with funds they are unlikely to introduce the same type of inactivity/admin fees that seem to be appearing in reaction to fund fee structure changes?
Very good Q. I'm wondering the same?0 -

Should we expect a message from iii confirming this?
Does anyone think there will be a u-turn on the maintenance charges?
Have just had this in an email from iii.
Transfer forms in the post today, I guess iii are glad to see us little fish go.
Hey ho.

Due to holding NASDAQ shares i'm a bit more limited on where to move. At the moment Halifax look the best bet with no inactivity fee at the moment.
I am in the same position as you. Will have a look at Halifax.
BTW HSBC also seem to offer the same facility (though not first direct). You need an HSBC account for that though, which I haven't got at the moment.0 -

Same situation here. My ISA and trading accounts are empty with zero balances. Got a reply back a few days ago in response to my closure request saying my accounts would be closed - but both are still showing as "Active" status online.
Has anyone actually had their accounts closed yet?0 -

Mrs got a reply to her request for account closure indicating that they will close her accounts by 1st of July.
Why not close them instantly is beyond me.0
