Is it just me that gets everything all at once? I've got...
Car repairs from (uninsured) muppet who hit me to sort.
House purchase to complete.
House to pack as we gave notice already.
House cleaning to show-home style for new tenants.
Cats to vaccinate and re-insure
Above Car to MOT (once its fixed by the accident people).
Job to get (I'm currently under consultation of redundancy).
IBS at its max... Therefore all of the above I am sorting whilst drugged up the eyeballs.
Anyone else find everything comes all at once and hits you like a spade in the eyes?!
I might just give up and

I know exactly how that feels. Asthough you are swimming in the river against the current.
Would it feel easier if you focused on one thing at a time? In order or importance?0 -

They're all important
sadly none can drop and I'm a control freak so my OH cant do it for me
I just ask him to cough up his share of the money! If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
I don't think all this is doing the IBS much good either. Take a deep breath, grab a coffee and take a seat. Now, go through each task and prioritise each task in order.
No good to anyone if you end up burnt out!

You don't have to clean your house to show home standards, just to the standard it was at when you moved in.0

Less aceptable wear and tear, if you've been there for years you'll never get it back to how it was when you moved in.
Break each item down into what it actually entails then it might be a longer list but much more managemable pieces, like you could pack up the loft or spare room first and get that room clean, or you could just go and get loads of boxes to be ready for when you start packing.
If there is a redundancy will you get a couple of months wages? You could leave the job hunt on the back burner while you get on top of some other bits maybe?
I'm terrible for stressing about things and getting worked up0 -
Well technically I have a job - I'm just waiting on a new contract ... But until then I'm worrying. So I guess I could attempt to park that one.
The show home comment is how I feel it needs to be 24/7 whilst the letting agent show new tenants around. I'm also paranoid about them stealing things (illogical I know).
I've got a list but most can't be broken down - like "mot the car"... I think that's an easy one but I can't do it until the accident people repair the bumper and I can't get that started until Wednesday...
Gosh reading this back - I worry about little things and things which are major "what ifs".If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

I wonder if it would all magically get done if I were to crash and burn:T. Or if I'd end up homeless with scrap metal on wheels for company:(If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
You don't have to let the agents show new tenants around, whatever your contract says. You have a right to quiet enjoyment. If you want to be helpful them you can specify certain times when it is convenient for you, but you certainly don't have to be on call to them 24/7.0

I split things into 'what will go ahead if I do nothing' and 'what needs my input to happen'.
So, people will view the house whether you have hoovered or not - and you will move out with no further action....... so any cleaning is a bonus
The worst that will happen is you will lose some deposit.
So the item on the list is 'clean enough to get deposit back' rather than 'clean to show home condition'.
Book the cars MOT appointment - you can always cancel it if the bumper isn't done - but you will have 'done' it then and can stop worrying about it.
I do that - once it's in the diary I can cross it off my mental list, otherwise it feels 'in limbo' and I can't settle without it going around and around.
Ditto the cats - book the appointment, put it in your diary, cross it off. Insuring them takes 10 minutes online.....
Do the bits you can, and then settle down with a load of bin bags and start on one cupboard at a time.
I moved last year, and it was tremendously stressful, but throwing stuff away made it all easier
Congratulations on your move!0 -
As others have said, make a full list of what needs doing for each item and work through them. Book the mot in - if you need to change it you can ring back but then it's done, same with the cats.
Also give your OH some tasks - I know you said you're a control freak so give him the less 'involved' ones
eg, you might want to deal with the house purchase paperwork etc yourself but am sure he can handle doing some cleaning and packing for the house, drop the car off for the mot or take the cats to the vet. No point you running yourself ragged and making yourself ill, when it sounds like he's happy to help but not being allowed to
