Don't seem to appear ungrateful but.....

I was really happy to win a Cornishware Breakfast set from ITV advertised at being worth £250. I went on the suppliers website (like you do!) and having priced it up, it is actually worth £121. I am really pleased with my prize but just think that the value advertised was a bit naughty!!

TBH ALL comps give an approximate prize value.

And that price is taken from when it first went on sale - so the price is usually always higher at first so if its like 6 months after it came out yes the price would be lower in general..

But why would you want to price a prize up????
To me i dont care what its worth or what they say its worth i enter to win for me and family so dont really matter when you think about it.

But anyway well done and im sure it will give you years of use..:T

I understand what you mean, I keep a running total of the cost of my prizes so I can have a bit of fun with the £2012 in 2012 challenge.

So I always price check my prizes if I dont know the value, but in your case smartt21 I would count it as 250!

    Well done on your win!
back to comping after a 2 year break!! Mission… to win a gift for all my family for Christmas!

I understand where you're coming from too. I had a prize recently consisting of a few different items. One of the items was missing when it arrived, and since the parcel didn't appear to have been tampered with I guessed it had been omitted as a genuine error by the sender. It was low value and part of me wasn't that fussed as it was the one and only item I possibly wouldn't have used (the rest of the prize was lovely and I was very grateful, I don't enter for things I don't want :)), but part of me was thinking "Hey where's the rest of my prize!" Of course I could have chased it up, but it was my decision not to, so I can't blame the promoters in any way. But even though we all know not to expect wins and we're grateful for whatever we're lucky enough to get, it's understandable to be a little disappointed if it's not what we expected or was advertised.

ETA: Well done on your prize though! Sounds lovely :T

    Ooh naughty!

I priced up a recent jewellrey win. It was meant to be £80 but was actually £84 so I guess it can work both ways. Sounds like a nice win for you anyway :)

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx
