in Credit cards
I recently checked my credit rating and it shows, as I knew, that I have not missed one credit card payment, or been late, over the last 12 years, having had 10 different credit cards during this period.
WIth this inmind, I recently applied for a 0% Barclaycard and got refused. I aslo applied for the M&S one, and got the same response.
I moved in June 2011 for 3 months, during which time I was not registered on the electoral role, and then moved in September 2011, and did register. Will this have affected my credit score? Also, is it because my score is too good? Does that really happen?:)

You don't know what your credit score is as its only visible to lenders, unless you've been stitched by experian and payed for one of their nonsense scores.0 -
Ditto the above post - no score you have seen will mean anything.
If you mean your file looks good, do you still have a lot of the cards open? I.e how much current available limit do you have?
As for electoral role, there is a good chance this will have at least some affect as I've been told multiple times it's crucial when it comes to credit rating.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
Really? Your score is too good? So those PRIME 0% cards are aimed at those with bad scores (which btw mean sod all and are plucked out of thin air).
You answered your own question - you've moved a fair bit recently, half of which you weren't registered on the ER.
This shows instability, which is why you were declined, not because you have too good a made up number.0 -
what do you earn
what are your debts
do the credit files show that you are on the electoral roll0 -

So, I assume the best way for me to re- build my credit rating is to get a "bad ratings" credit card?
Why do you think you need yet another card?
The issue is probably moving and also not being on the Electoral role. Getting another card will not help with that.#it's still odd though as my wife successfully applie for a credit card recently
Was it a different card?
It could be just that another company has different criteria.
If not you need to look at what is different between your two circumstances and credit reports. Not everything is on your credit report e.g. employment status, age, income.0 -
If you have no debts to anyone but already have credit cards, why do you need to apply for another one with a 0% facility?0

Are all the cards still open and what is your debt vs salary0
