Section 75 coverage for holiday accomodation rental

If I pay for rental of private holiday accomodation using my credit card, am I still covered for Section 75 if its a scam or anything?

Alternatively, if I pay with my credit card via paypal is that the same or does the fact that paypal is in the middle cancel it out?

Also, do I need to pay in one go or can I pay deposit then full balance? Aparently this can make a difference.

I've got amex platinum card which may make a difference since they seem better than most.

If paypal is involved the link is broken, but if they have their own merchant account doubt they will take amex
