how do i complain about an overseas holiday hotel

was in egypt for a fortnight and hotel was absolutely filthy. took photos of the dust........even wrote DUST on the table. our sheets were not changed in the fortnight we were there. the food was disgusting. we both were ill and spent most of our time in our rooms. the glass table in our room was broken and had jagged edges which was extremely dangerous and the fire alarm was just wires hanging from ceiling. this is just a few bad bits. but i would like to know how i go about complaining and who to....is it the tour company

thanks

The rep in resort while you are there is the first step or the hotel management if it was not a package.

If you were on a real package holiday, single price for the whole thing booked with a recognised tour operator, they are liable for any defects in the holiday but you have to complain on the spot to the hotel and the tour operators representative or agent. If you didn't, expect a major uphill struggle ahead. If you 'saved money' by buying accommodation and flights separately, even if they were from the same supplier, your contract is almost certainly direct with the hotel, I leave you to estimate your chances of even getting a reply in that case

so you go to a country which is in large parts a desert and you complain about dust???

As the others have said your best time to complain was whilst you were on holiday, you'll struggle to get more than an apologising letter now your home.
