what do you need it to do ?? if just web/office/etc. a good refurb will do it and save £££££......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
yeah pretty much everyday use really, not gaming or anything like that maybe music and dvds but nothing too demanding0

Most stuff will do you for that, TBH, and there isn't anything I'd say watch out for, a 3 yr old full laptop will easily suffice.
Computers have been delivering internet and music for years without a problem, so modernish stuff is fine.
You can even put new RAM in for peanuts, and it's really very very easy.
Our local PC repair shop always has loads of refurbs, and I think that as long as they've been around for a while, and you get a guarantee, that is a decent way to obtain one. You could even practice your haggling skills, and see it working, etc.0 -
This Toshiba SATELLITE C660-2E1 is a good start, but you have to install more RAM. Very easy, just takes a few minutes.
Should be in new condition. If not, return it for a full refund.
Specs here
Essential RAM upgrade: Take it to 3 GB RAM for less than a tenner or 5GB RAM for less than £15.
So under £220 for a laptop with good battery life and in new condition.
If you try the laptop with just the supplied RAM, it will be painfully slow. With the RAM upgrade, you will be pleased with the performance and the price.0 -
Thanks for the reply, I was told not to get a celeron processor a while back, was that bad advice then?0

Some are terrible. This one is fine. Dual core with a decent benchmark figure. Couple with 5GB of RAM, it will be ample.
Really just for basic usage. Spend more if you want HDMI output, 1.3MP webcam, more USB inputs....0 -
