I can't speak for any other insurers but at Aviva we do not record down glass claims ourselves. It's always advisable to metion any claims including those for glass, on any future quotes with other companies as each insurer may differ and wish to note them down. It's always better to declare them than not.
I hope that's of some use
Dave
Many thanks for your help with this and thanks too to all of the other contributors to this thread.0 -

Odd that you ask it on your quote form then. In Your Claims section WINDSCREEN claims are a category that you have to answer.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Thanks for your post Indoubt96. This is something we are looking at internally, however I can confirm that glass claims have no bearing on your premium and if you call our inbound sales team you wont be asked to declare these.
I hope this helps

I have just found out that windscreen claims need to be declared . My wife took out an Aviva policy in May this year but we failed to declare a windscreen claim in August 2012.
Do I need to declare this?

Hello,
I've got fully comp car insurance with Aviva in the UK but are currently travelling in Europe and have a cracked windscreen. My excess in the UK is £75 but I'm not sure how this applies in Europe?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.0 -
Did you pay extra for comp cover on Europe?
If so you should have the same cover there as here and the same excess. Contact Aviva claims dept.
If you are just using the standard minimum cover for travelling in Europe it won't be covered.0 -
When you call, establish what the effect on your premium is likely to be if you claim. You may find you are paying by instalments rather than getting a "free" windscreen less the excess.0
