First direct £100 bonus, need a fast answer please

My employer hasn't switched to my first direct account since it is a new job. I dont think it was shown on my current bank and the payrol for this month has been done.

I need to know if i can transfer the £1500 from my current account to first direct and still get the bonus.

Need to know now so i can transfer today before the banks close, thanks.

Your best bet is to ring FD due to your restricted timing.

I transferred £1500 from my current acc to my FD one, and have not (yet) switched my employer's pay.

FD gave me the £100 bonus- it took a couple of weeks to get it.

Surely a bank transfer is the best way to avoid moving cash around

Under faster payment rules FD will tranfer upto 10K to another bank account within a couple of hours. That is my own experience.

    Bit confused, but-

To pay into FD? I think bank transfer would be the mos tlogical way to pay this in (I don't know if HSBC will let you pay in over the counter for FD).

To get the money back out of FD, bank transfers should be free, or you could porbably withdraw £500/cash per day on your cashcard?

There is no requirement to have your salary paid into the first direct account to get the £100 joining incentive. You just need to make sure the account is credited with at least £1500 per month. You could make the £1500 transfer using your current/previous bank's online banking which should be free of charge. The online transfer will most likely go by Faster Payment so will be in your first direct account within 2 hours. Who do you currently bank with? A £30 fee to transfer money seems absurd.

Alternatively go to your local HSBC and pay in £1500 using either their automated paying in machines or at the counter.

Once the money is in first direct you can withdraw it using your debit card or transfer it to your other bank account.

I was quite fortunate and had my current bank across the road from HSBC so if you blinked you'd have missed me.

Thirty quid charge if i asked them to do it. Its free to do online but im still in the process of sorting that out.

Thanks for the quick accurate replies, Perelandra i hope im as lucky:beer:.
