I have an old computer that does not have a single SATA drive, the motherboard does not even have a SATA port. All IDE.
The power supply has died, and I was looking for a new power supply but they all seem to have SATA power connectors.
Any one know of a power supply about 350 - 400 watts that has at least 4 IDE power connectors?
The present dead power supply is a Taurus X TX 350PFC-C

Hi, you can get a 400w PSU from here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400W-CiT-HE-Black-Edition-PSU-12cm-Fan-SATA-Power-Supply-PSU-Dual-12v-Rails-/120905966974?pt=UK_Computing_PowerSupplies_EH&hash=item1c268ea57e it has 3 molex 4 pin plugs but one usually split one into two as here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC-Y-Splitter-4-pin-Molex-Power-Cable-CD-DVD-HDD-New-/160414903244?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item2559792bcc
Or if you buy a PSU with no molex plugs you can get adapter cables here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SATA-15-4-Pin-Female-Molex-IDE-Y-Power-Adapter-Cable-/310256045650?pt=UK_Computing_Drive_Cables_Adapters&hash=item483cb38e52
So you have infinite flexibility, and if you wish to buy a better quality PSU eg the OCZ 550w then you can apply adapters as you wish.0 -
How about this one?
Note: the full name of the item you're looking for is the Molex 8981 Series Power Connector.0
