Hi
Has anyone else been charged by Adept Telecom for a fake business directory entry?
They tried to say it was BT passing on the costs and that it was OFCOM but I do not even have a listing. Not in last years directory either.
I checked with Ofcom and it is only if you want an enhanced listing not a basic entry, I have neither.
I think that what they are doing is assuming all their customers have an enhanced listing.
Horrible company to deal with, anyway if you have had similar issues please post.

An entry in what directory? BT sold off their printed directory business, and whilst the BT white pages is now a shadow of its former self, display advertising does need a confirmed order before you are liable to pay.
Did you get a marketing call at any stage from them?0 -
Even before the internet revolution, we regularly received 'invoices' from overseas telex (yes, it was that long ago) directory publishers seeking to slip charges past my firm's accounts payable department (me).
This sort of thing appears just to be the 21st Century version of the same scam.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
