Hi, I'm looking to buy a new fridge freezer (american side by side style) and a washing machine. I wondered if anyone had any suggestions of where to go for ex display models or reasonably priced appliances?

appliancesonline.co.uk are very good for prices - often with free next-day-delivery. Just don't fall into their extended warranty trap, which is where they make all their money.

And don't pay them to take away your old appliances - phone a local scrap dealer, who'll probably collect them for free and may even give you a fiver if you're lucky.

Washing machines - you can't go far wrong with a Bosch, who still seem to be making reasonable quality machines, whereas most other manufacturers are putting out machines with inferior quality components that fail much sooner than you would expect them to!
