Tesco credit card and Faster payment

in Credit cards
Since coming across this problem I have noticed a few other threads about Tesco Credit Cards but here is my experience -
I always pay my Tesco CC in full by Faster pay (it is therefore set up as an existing account on my internet banking)
This month I went on line to pay as usual - I had May's statement which looked exactly like all the other statements I have received with RBS details on the Bank Giro Credit section on the tear off section.
Hit the payment button and got a message that the Payee you have selected does not accept this type of payment - funny, they always have in the past. So I ring the Customer Service number on the top of the statement only to be told that this is no longer Tesco Customer service and that Tesco are no longer associated with RBS - so why is it plastered all over the May statement?
They give me a new customer service number which I ring and they confirm their separation from RBS and give me new account and Sort Code details for Tesco - good.
Go back onto internet banking and find that by searching for tesco details in the drop down menu of available payees that the new details are already in place - great. Try and amke the payment to be told.......
This payee does not accept this type of payment ???
Ring customer service again to be told that they having a few problems at their end and to make a payment by debit card over the phone, what if the payment does not go through in time and I miss the deadline I say?
Not a problem she says there is plenty of time (2 days). But what if it misses I say - no real response. I make the payment as suggested and will be straight on to them if there are any penalties imposed next month.
Absolute Shambles

I've just had my latest Tesco Credit Card Statement (which looks like it's been produced by a 5 year old on a typewriter) and noticed that the payee sort code and account number had changed.
I'm very surprised that there was nothing with the statement to highlight this - I'm downright pedantic about these things however the majority of people who have online banking set up may not pay as much attention and send the details to the wrong account.
As I had made a payment yesterday (small extra payment thankfully) to the old details I called Tesco's non customer service department only to be informed that I wasn't to worry, there will be thousands of payments gone to the wrong place and they will all find a home eventually!
As I pay my balance off in full each month I won't be taking any chances and will be sending more than I strictly need to to be sure they don't screw up.
The cynical part of me wonders how many people will be caught out......... Poor show, Tesco0 -
Bit of an update - today I attempted to update my online payment details with the new sort code and account number.
Won't go through - same message as rubble - so I called Tesco who tell me that online faster payments are withdrawn until further notice. Payments are to be made by debit card or cheque only. What a farce - time for a new credit card.0
