I have got a redundancy payment, not sure when i'll get more work, but want money to work for me. I should get some agency stuff pretty quick, so hopeful that i won't need to touch it, or at least the bulk of it.

Don't forget to use your ISA allowance - the Post Office web saver might suit for the rest.

Could you put some of it away for a year? cahoot are paying 3.6% for one year but you can not withdraw any funds in that time ... maybe you can afford to put a half or a quarter into that sort of product? Don't rush though ... maybe you will decide you want to use the money to start up your own business???0
