Hey guys.
I was browsing amazon last night, and this caught my eye.
I'm really surprised at the price and am thinking of getting one.
Is this deal too good to be true or should I go for it?
Thanks in advance

Hmm. I got an Asus one from ebuyer a few months ago which was the same size but had integrated speakers and cost a tenner less.0

Same res and everything?
I wouldn't need speakers to be honest, I'm using my headphones 99% of the time- David0 -
Yeah, same res and not sure about exact spec but does everything I need it to. I thought the integrated speakers are handy, just so I can have some audio without the hassle of extra wires and plugs. Don't even need a separate audio cable either as it all goes via HDMI via the laptop's docking bay.0

Not bad, not breathtaking
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/hp-2311x-23-full-hd-led-backlit-monitor-11261932-pdt.html 23" 1080 monitors £139 on the high street - ok you have an extra inch, but as a price comparison it's not like a once-in-a-lifetime deal0 -

Fair point. I'd be buying it for my desktop anyway. Fed up of using a 26" TV for a few months now :PNot bad, not breathtaking

I must admit, that monitor does look a lot better than the one on amazon.- David0 -
Try this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/337074-24in-lcd-1920x1080-16-9-2ms-g245hcbid-f-hd-dvi-vga-in-et-fg5he-c01
-And check out similar deals on Ebuyer. Also, the Acer is available at the same price from www.cclonline.com.
It really depends what you want from the monitor. Do you intend to use it simply as a monitor, or would you want to install a TV card in the PC and use it as an occasional 2nd. TV? If so, and your PC is used for gaming, with a good Graphics card, you will need HDMI, DVI-D and VGA is not necessary but will probably come as standard.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I'd be using the monitor for things like gaming, but mostly everything else as well. I'm planning on getting a few monitors (preferably all the same) and having a crossfire setup across 3/4 of them. I have a HD7970, only came out at the end of January and is a pretty powerful card.- David0 -
Hi David
The 7970 is a powerful card, I have its lesser cousin, an Asus 6770 and although I am not a Gamer, I use it for Photographic and other graphical work. It has never been stretched.
My 18 year old grandson has a multiple monitor setup, I only have one 24" Iiyama which I love and would recommend, but I will speak to Jack and ask his advice about setting up multi Monitors. I believe you can get a frame for building your monitors into. If you need some advice about that, I suggest you visit one or both of these free Forums and Register: -

Thanks a lot for all of this
Personally I'm not much of a fan of having a frame for all of the monitors. I'm currently planning to decorate a room and to have an entire wall for all my tech stuff. I'm looking into getting some sort of desk top fitted up to the wall so I can have all my stuff on it and some stuff under it.
I'll check out the links though
Thanks again- David0 -

I have used them for a number of years (but not since retirement) and found their products to be well made and the delivery good.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
