Wednesday 30th May - What small DFW things will you do this weekend??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning all, hope everyone is well.
So today is payday, money has all already been allocated to the debt payments and the bills (rent, petrol, electric, council tax, the world and his uncle want a little bit). This has the undesirable effect of making me grumpy. I've decided not to do my masters degree, not until (if) I ever have the opportunity to save up. Don't want to be further in debt for something that doesn't have a guaranteed return. Am also getting fed up with eating value food, not being able to buy anything that is non-essential, feeling guilty for a treat chocolate bar about twice a month. Have been thinking of getting an additional job (I currently work & commute for approx 55 hours a week), I reckon 12 hours a week, maybe weekends, even on min wage would make a quicker dent into the debt. I just don't see an end to it all. Once this debt is paid off there's the student loan (not an urgent one so not included in my df journey), and even then I'll still be in rented accommodation when all my friends have already started buying homes, and still without any pension plans
Anyway, that's enough of the whinging for now. Sorry all but I know you guys will understand. It's all my own doing and this I'm sure is just Karma!
Today:
* Washing on line drying
* Breakfast from stores, no lunch so will rummage for a cuppa soup at work
* Better run the vacuum round after work
* Start an evening job search - see what the market is like atm
* Another day of work, might draft an email to the boss saying if there is any overtime I would like it
I think that's about all I can face for today. I'll get back on it once I'm out of this mood!!!
Have a good day all
S x

Morning everyone. Hi Sunshine
I'm sorry you are feeling down. Have you tried registering with People Per Hour? You might pick up some extra work there and do it from home.
Also, is there any kind of funding you could get for your Masters? Not sure of the area you want but ESRC (website https://www.esrc.ac.uk) offer grants, what about a scholorship? You might be able to get some help with it.
I do hope you feel better soon.
Ok so today I will:
