Old Halifax Banking Profiles

Halifax had a CPD marker on my profile due to a IVA so I closed all my accounts with them believing that if I re-apply later I'd get a new profile eventually without CPD's and to protect my Lloyds TSB Profile from being corrupted by the Halifax profile in the event of a merger of data between the two. Figuring they wont merge old closed accounts across.

How long do banking profiles remain with the bank, is it 6 years after the closure of all accounts or is it sooner?

Is the profile based on each account or an aggregate of all accounts held at the time. Would the time frame be from when the last account was closed or each individual account.

When you say last activity, would it be last activity overall with the Halifax or 6 years from the last time a loan / credit card was used, which would have been over 6 years ago but the current account was only recently closed.

Would I have to wait 6 years from when the current account is closed for a new ID and CIN to be created.

Would any of the old closed account details ever get merged with Lloyds TSB data.

Also I'm concerned my internet banking is still active at the Halifax despite me asking them to delete the data from their systems.

Is the CPD on the customer record or the account?

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't already shared with Lloyds TSB. All the accounts are now held on the same system. I would expect that - for data analysis purposes if nothing else - customer records have been merged together.

I know that most products are managed 'as one', with the former Halifax teams now managing both Lloyds and Halifax products, so imagine that they would want one data source for this.

If that's the case, then you are probably looking at no less than six years after your last Halifax/Bank of Scotland/Lloyds TSB account was closed.

I don't believe this to be the case at the moment, though I hear differently for mortgages so will probably have to avoid both of them for mortgages unfortunately.

CPD only applied to Halifax, Lloyds TSB wise I am now OK, granted a credit card and OD with them. Would not get that with Halifax apparently.

Really hope this don't change in future and no idea what happens with mortgages as I've heard they look at all accounts though closing the halifax seems to be the right move from what I've been hearing and worth losing £5 a month for if that's the case.

Does anyone here deal with Lloyds TSB / Halifax Mortgages who can advise on best way to proceed, and how long I'd need to wait for new Halifax profile obviously don't want to re-apply to Halifax too soon.

no, unlikely but everything is linked by a customer ID not linked by account ID.

I take it that I have both a Lloyds TSB and Halifax Customer ID which are different. Also that there is no link with these 2 slave ID's to a Master Customer ID for LBG.

I had some top advice on here from consumerism, but it appears to have been deleted ?!?

I have closed the Halifax account down and wont be logging in again in that the profile will get deleted after 6 years.

I do however notice that they have yet to update call credit to show the account as settled (S marker) so that it drops off 6 years from the closure date, no adverse is reported, just the closure has not gone through to this CRA. I'm not sure what it says on Experian or Equifax as I don't have active subscriptions to these two but guess it will be similar.

Also notice Lloyds TSB last updated the CRA with a green tick in April too, should these go through every month?

I obviously don't want to be contacting the Halifax again, as it's going to start the clock again, as per previous deleted advice. But not sure what I should do, if anything, other than to keep an eye on it.

Obviously if it's not closed properly then I'm concerned as it used to allow me to log into internet banking and say I have no accounts. Following the advice I wont be logging in to check either.
