Professional Carpet Cleaning

Just wondering if anyone can tell me whether the carpets would be left damp after professional carpet cleaning, and how long they would take to dry out? Thanks!

if steam cleaned they would be left damp.
on a nice summers day with windows open should dry out in around 5 hours.
    overnight if done in winter.

I just done my carpets (wool) yesterday around 1pm with a vax machine. I also did some large rugs (acrylic) only very slightly damp were the carpets and all are dried today. I put rugs outside for a few hours and then brought them in to dry over a clothe horse

Thanks guys! Our inventory stated the carpets at the property had been professionally cleaned on the day we moved in (in Jan) and I'm now starting to suspect that they weren't... especially since it sounds like they'd have been still damp in that case!

Not necessarily. A neighbour runs a local company and states that cleaned carpets can be dry within a short time and they guarantee it. Think it's a couple of hours but I can't say for sure until I see his vans tomorrow

depends on how powerful the extraction machine was and if they used air mover. Can be dry in less than an hour if done right but you would be able to tell and peobably wouldnt question wether it had been done.
