Argos - waiting on a bed for 2months now...

Hey guys,I ordered a bed from Argos on 13th April and was told it would be here at the latest by 15th May,i rung them on the 10th 11th and 12th to check the status, they PROMISED me it would be in stock for delivery by the 15h and well of course this time came and nothing had arrived, they then told me it would be 4th June at the latest, another 3weeks!!!! But kept saying "but it could turn up tomorrow, we just dont know" well considering its only a few days until the 4th now, they was obviously a big fat lie.

i moved into a new flat with my boyfriend and for the first week we had to sleep on the sofa because Argos refused to deliver the mattress without the bed!!!! But the complaints department managed to sort that out for us and got us the mattress delivered.

So for past 3 weeks almost now we been sleeping with our mattress on floor,it wasnt so bad for the first week but now we are really fed up....last night i was really unwell and basically i couldnt get up off the floor quick enough to make it to the ensuite to be sick, so yeah, all over the carpet! sorry to share such a horrid story but im just so annoyed about the whole thing! And i just have a very bad feeling that by the time the weekend comes, they will tell me its going to be delayed again!

Basically my question is: Can i claim any kind of compensation for the complete cockup at their end and the stress its caused me? this is the 1st time ive had my own place and moved out of my parents house and i wanted everything to be perfect and it just hasnt been! Ive been really quite upset about it all! While all this has been happening, ive been in the middle of sick leave from work due to stress, how ironic!! This definatly hasnt helped me

Hi, We have had similar problems with homebase (part of same group) and a dressing table, we have been waiting for ours since October, we have now infact had 3 delivered and they have all been faulty. They will only offer us a refund for the product and will not discuss compensation until we have a product we would like to keep. Massive disappointment but as the price was so good for the original product theres not a lot we can do? Id get a refund and purchase else where if you can? I do think you could make a claim for the time you have spent waiting for delivery though?
