Oh god, i LOVE applesauce. I spoon it out and eat it by itself. Applesauce is one of my favourite things. We have what we called 'capitol breakfast' whoch is porridge with applesause very well spiced. Its capitol and sets you up for the day.:D. I also have it with yoghurt, but, just by itself is best.
Almost apple time here!0 -
There's no taboo about not mixing sweet and savoury on the same dish. American breakfasts would have jam (jelly) and bacon etc. all on the same plate.
I don't recall grits.
Having said this, I find haggis tasty and have had (eel) pie and mash since living in London and very much enjoy it.

Historically there aas not so much distinction here, with more fruits in main courses. And infact, we still do it, we just like to pretend we do not IMO.0 -

Surrey county show is not like the county show you get in cornwall, or deveon, or bath and west, or any of the big county levels. Its a lesser event. You will find ageneric hogroats, baked potatos and bacon sarnies. I only used to do surrey because it was easy for me to get to so i could take a full load To compete (and sometimes two) and not have a rushed day.0 -
I am not a grits person either, but i like corn muffins, well, i like corn bread, and muffins sound similar, so maybe i would like corn dogs?
I also like pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, and even the occasional sausage.0 -
