Extra work? No money? No ta I'll stay where I am.
Which is exactly what the mrs did. They said it had "caused difficulty" when she turned it down as they really wanted her to do it. She demanded 10% and she'd do it, but "0%? No thanks, I'll stay coasting along where I am". She got just about 9.5% in some sort of pathetic face saving exercise for the manager involved.
That'll do she said.
More beer money for us I said.
Everyone's a winner.
Edit: Oh and congratulations
yeah, i know. technically, in terms of pay grade i've actually been demoted, as the top end of the pay scale i'm moving to is £30k below the top end of my current pay scale...but in terms career prospects it is definitely better.
basically it's an 18 month plan. do this new job, get relevant technical and management skills, and then come back to my current department at the grade above where i am now hopefully, which whilst not being total megabucks, would be much better than what i am on now. if i'm lucky, i might make it within 12 months.
the alternative is to stay where i am now, on the same pay, and do probably more interesting high profile work, but never be able to make the jump up to the next level.
i applied for it rather than being asked, there were quite a lot of applicants so i rather doubt that demanding loads of money would have been a successful strategy!0 -

Is that £28k of business debt, or £28k of liabilities, though?
They're two completely different things
CK
I realise that, i did mean debt. Liabilities would be a touch more. Just wanted to keep it simple.
£28k of loans, paying set payments totalling £806 pcm back. At 21 years old, best financial choice i have made yet(even though just saying that will make you think "how is taking on so much debt so young a good idea, what a thick *******")
Anyway, capital comes down every month, longest loan is up in just over 4 years, no benefit for me paying off early....so debt free at 25....oh wait but i will have a mortgage by then! Maybe by 30:eek:Living frugally at 24

So, i think i might get three guinea fowl. I cannot decide on what colours though, i want them all to be different coloured and don't like pieds, but don't mind pearls . I was trying to read about colour genetics but then curled in a ball and cried. I think i mainly like the blues and purples, butvthe place i want to buy has a fairly limited choice, including two i cannot find a picture of the colour.
Why are colour genetics in particular so damn headachey? I have also been trying to remember my equine colour genetics for horse buying this year ( a good horse is never a bad colour, but some colours are worth more than others) and that is getting more and more convulted too, new colours having been named and ided since i last read about this sort of thing.0 -
