Just here briefly to add that I'm also sad to hear your news, Silvercar.

We have been celebrating a big event here, but it's been tinged with sadness for similar reasons. Here's hoping you find strength through family & friends.

My thoughts are with you SC xxx
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

According to the EA's listing on RM when this house was on the market, my kitchen is 12' x 8'9". I imagine that is middling by NP standards.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

So,i have a number to call to arrange the next scans, which seems a sensible thing to start the week with, all things considered. Would like to arrange it so i can plan the rest of my week . The number doesn't work. I check the webiste, the two numbers are different, so call the website one, call the switchboard get a different one again which is engaged for the last hour and then call switch board bak who explain when they have a meeting they take the phone off the ho and leave it so. But the meeting should have ended at half nine, so they put me throught pals......who are not there, but at least have an answerphone.

Who on earth plans these systems?

Edit: ok, got hold of pals and a nice spunding young man there is going to try and sort it out and call me back this morning. Phew!

Edit: omg, i am old wnought to refer to 'nice young men'. How utterly depressing!

I find it amazing just how much space kitchens take up .... in my opinion it's down to poor design - and they are all designed the same way..... so maybe it's just that I have bizarre ideas :)

Kitchens seem, to me, to be full of small/wasted space cupboards, with overbearing wall units that you can't reach into.

I figure one GOOD larder and a big run of worktop would be so much better to look at.

    Jobsworths and part-timers.

Since more people started working part-time the world's gone to pot and there's no continuity.

I have two viewings of places to live. One is another hotel, not ideal but cheaper, better parking, more central and at least available .... the other's a private flat share that's not actually even available until the end of August.

In this area it seems quite common for hotels to have long-term guests, like a house-share with live-in landlord, but some aspects of a hotel. Maybe they all found they couldn't fill rooms so they're looking for short lets instead. The hotel one's got a breakfast, but not a cooked one :( But it's as cheap as chips...

Maybe the one tonight will fit the bill....
