I quite enjoy trying to do CDs in order of purchase...another reason for not going the way of MP3s
Its been so long since we had cds out. No idea how we'll do them this time. atm its random shoved in knicker drawers etc. But most still boxed.
Genre causes debate...some of what dh calls one thing i do not. Might go very broad..classical, jazz, dance and other.0 -

If so, that's one of the ones that we sent to the charity shop last year.
There are 1-2 I'd have liked to have kept, now I know how things have ended up .... but I'd have just ended up lugging them about forever .... and not using them. The Hamlyn All Colour Cookbook is one we chucked... and some 1960s ones, including the Dairy Book of Home Management, that the milkman sold in the early 70s, I still remember when my mum bought it. All went to the charity shop though.
Awwww, if it was the same i would have bpught it from you! Mine lost its cover very early on. No idea where that book is now.0 -
I think the answer is ... there's no answer. Just bung them on the shelves for now. It's job done then... and you can add it to the future list of jobs to do.0

I'm pretty sure we have the Hamlyn All Colour cookbook... goes off to look...0 -
Yes, this is the one:
Incidentally, it is in a small cupboard in the utility room with lots of other cookbooks from... er... a while ago. And a random assortment of dusters including some made from old t-shirts. Two of which were from Pontins. We didn't go on holiday so much as a family, but we did go to Pontins at least once. I'm pretty sure we stayed in a caravan, and I don't think we ever did a second time!0 -

I had limited exposure to food to that point, mum wasn't really a cook. Having a Vesta curry was super-extra-special in our house.
I think the desserts were especially awesome for me as they were rare in our house and that cookbook had some fabulous ones. It also had food that looked nice, wasn't burnt at the edges etc like I was used to seeing.0 -

I can't be bothered to unpack the cupboard, but I'm pretty sure there will be some circles cut out of greaseproof paper paperclipped inside the back cover of my mum's copy. I'm guessing from the name (and the numbers of copies sold in our pics), that it must have been one of the first cookery books with colour photos in it.0 -
When I look for recipes, I type in ingredients, or a dish, then go to google images just to look at the photos..... that's probably my favourite hobby this year
When I write my CV I won't put that under Interests/Hobbies or they'll spot I'm a loon.0
