Fitting new gas fire and fireplace

We are currently decorating our living room and are having a completely new fireplace. We have been quoted £250 to fit the marble hearth, marble back panel, new gas fire and surround. Does this sound about right?
We were quoted £85-100 just to fit the fire then it went up to £250 to do the whole lot. The pipework from the meter needs replacing (wrong size i think) and some bricks need taking out to make it fit.
thanks
Erica

Make sure the fitter is a Corgi registered gas installer. There are lots of cowboys about. Gas regulations change so quickly you need to know you are compliant with the current regs. Price seems ok to me.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Just had an old fire removed, new one put in, plus marble fireplace. Required short new run of pipe to hide it in the wall.
Set to work, tested and certificated by Corgi man £202-500
