Rbs/unison

Hiya,

I would like to know if anyone can offer advice, I recently informed RBS (Jan 2012) That I was having problems paying etc, and would i be able to reduce the payments, they explained that the only way this would happen would be to default on the payment,
long story short, we came to an agreement to pay £50 for a period of 6 months, and agreed on the 12/04/2012 19 days later the account is handed to a recovery service.
I have been paying the agreed amount since 02/2012 and continue to do so. is this something that RBS does, also discovered that they send their letters out by 2nd class post..

any advice would be really helpful in dealing with this issue

This is standard across various banks where you have to default before they offer you a olive tree.

I'm afraid lenders don't like people not making the contractual amounts.
If they made it easy for people not to pay the full amounts then they would be deluged with people wanting to reduce payments for all sorts of reasons.
So they make it hard and trash your credit records which will make it difficult to get credit for a long time.

Probably best to go over to the debt free wannabe board.
Lots of sympathy and advice over there.
