im not desperado for money normally as i have a partner who gets a wage aswell but his comes in after the rent is due
    ^^^^^^^
CHRIST - as in day to day living, food, petrol, other sorts of small bills.
rent - due out on my pay date - my landlord doesnt like overdue rent and has given me a deadline.

i gave a very brief description of what is going on and I am asking for any advise on how to make an employer pay the wage that is overdue and what is entitled to me without having to wait for the legal process

What is entitled to you? Well that would be what is owed to you and to be fair I can't believe anyone leaves a job and has no idea when they will get their last pay.

Like I have said, what date in the month is your salary normally paid? You may have till wait till then or failing that write a letter RECORDED delivery and ask them for the £

I know this doesn't help you now but to anyone out there that is employed: Find this stuff out asap and before you even think you need to know it! Make sure you have the details at home in case things happen quickly.

No, there is a usual procedure for this. You need to give them the 14 days and then go to the next step - which I believe is trying to apply for an Employment Tribunal but other people are more knowledgeable on this.

I believe the OP has only been employed for a couple of months and you need to have been employed for at least 2 years now to take issues to an employment tribunal so that's unlikely to be the correct route in this case.

OP, I think the advice people can give you is limited without knowing which company you worked for. There are a couple of scam companies which are notorious for doing similar things and have caught a lot of people (including my sister) out; or it may simply be a payroll mistake which has been compounded by your manager going on holiday or something equally innocuous.

Not even remotely true! The only change has been to the time to make a claim for unfair dismissal - that changed to two years for anyone starting their job after 6th April 2012. It remains one year for anyone who started before that date. No other "issues" have been altered.

If you name the company, then maybe someone else may be able to tell you where their Head Office/payroll are?.
Have you looked on 'Glassdoor' ?. This site seems to have loads of info about various companies, some of it not very nice, but then, it is the site for people to air their views on.

I don't want to name the company because they are still in buisness and I feel that it would be unprofessional of me to write about them on the internet. ok thanks i'l have a look on that and see if i can get something - i know alot of other people have had the same problems with getting paid
    Thanks

A months pay - Pay date went by while i still worked for them and the managers couldnt tell me when i would recieve it, thats why i left. I know when i should of got paid and its the company that is not paying me for no apparent reason.

Ok thanks, yea its not a payroll mistake , its my mistake working for a company that is fairly new with a lot of problems. i will be more careful in the future and will carry on going through the legal route

Thanks for all the advice and comments

No you said you left as you hand handed in your notice. What one is it? You resinged then left or you left as you weren't paid?

If your last working day is after the pay date SOME companies do not pay you in the bank on the pay date (incase you run off and do not work out the notice) but may pay you by cheque or some date after you have left.

When you resigned you asked when you last pay would be and when they never knew you took it further?

    When did you resign?
    How long was your notice?
When was pay date (meant to be)?
What was the last day worked?

You write a letter and send registered post and give them 14 days to pay you then say you are going to take them to court to get whats owed to you.
