WEFly cancellation flight advice needed

Hi,

I recently booked a flight through WEFly.com for 2 adults..
I have been away myself and when I returned home and was checking the confirmation email for the flights I had booked with them, I noticed I had made a mistake with the arrival dates.

I called them today to ask to change the dates, which is possible, BUT the cost of this came to over 600.00 for the 2 adults!! This 'fee' cost more than the original tickets I purchased, (which was on line with a debit card)

I found a cheaper option, which was to re-book a fresh flight from scratch (only 500.00)

Therefore, I contacted WEFly.com and asked them to cancel the original flights and re-book a new one, no probs so far, until they then informed me that I will not get a single penny back from the cancelled flights (500.00)

I even contacted the flight company direct, British Airways, who pointed out that as I used an agent it's not their problem, thanks B.A!

Now, surely if I have paid for a service in full and no longer need that service and haven't used this service and cancel it, surely I am entitled to my money back? I class that as theft in my eyes?

Is there anyone out there that could please advise me what to do as I really can't afford to loose 500.00 and spend another 500.00 on flights.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated as this has caused a huge rift between my wife and I and she is now contemplating leaving me over this, so any help may save me.

Sorry for the long post,

Regards, Andy

I cannot understand why you think you can cancel and receive a full refund.
What do their terms and conditions have to say about this?

    I don't.

You willingly paid them some money and they agreed to provide the service.
You have now decided to break the contract that you ahve agreed to.

    Hello,

Unfortunately it looks like you will not get a refund for the cancelled flights. Did they not give you a breakdown of the charges for changing the flights? £600 seems excessive even taking into account higher flight prices.

On your other point, if your wife is thinking of leaving you over this, you have bigger problems than you first thought; there is something else going on there as no rational person would leave their spouse over an incorrectly booked flight.

Their terms and conditions say that most tickets are non refundable but in certain circumstances changes are permitted with an applicable change fee dependant on the airline.

Why can't you use the tickets on the day you have booked ? Seems the obvious solution really.

This is why being cheap can be a false economy. Alas it was your mistake, your breaking the contract, I do not believe they have any further obligation to you.

    OK, I'll re-phrase that.

My advice is to read the terms and conditions of the deal that you have agreed to.

My further advice for future reference is to read the terms and conditions of any deal before agreeing to them.

You may be entitled to a refund of unused taxes and charges, which often add up to quite a large chunk of the cost of a flight. However, I'm not sure if the same rules apply to a third party seller as they would if you had booked direct with the airline, and even if they do the seller is likely to be able to charge a cancellation fee, which in some cases could wipe out the entire cost of the refund.

The only way to be sure is to do what wealdroam keeps telling you to do, read the T&Cs.

You should be entitled to a refund of the APD and the Taxes.

I have some, although I expect an equally unhelpful reply - he did give you advice.

    - Double check what you're booking next time
    - If you think you're going to make a mistake, check the T&Cs to make sure you'll be able to amend at a later date

You're pretty much stuffed to be honest - I don't like giving false hope and I don't really think you have any chance of getting a full refund.

    As for theft... :rotfl:
