New Small Kitchen Providers

Hello

I am looking to redo the kitchen in our maissonette as the cupboards and workspaces are relatively old and worn.

However as it's only about 3.5M by 3M i can't seem to find any of the bigger retailers that cater for it.

I'm looking for a company like magnet comet everest etc that will plan and install a kitchen that size

Many Thanks for any help

Using Everest will result in you having to remortgage your internal organs.

You would be as well to get a local fitter who will source the kitchen for you from Howdens or Magnet Trade and fit it for you.

If ou post where you are located, somebody may give you a recommendation.

That is bigger than a lot of people's kitchens. Magnet will do that and the online guide even has example prices. But make sure you get a good fitter, fitting is as important as the furniture.

    Do comet sell kitchens now?!

Are you looking at a bespoke £40k kitchen or something?! Would think all retailers would deal with you, (homebase, ikea, b&q, magnet, howdens).

Probably worth mentioning that youll be paying over the odds for incl fitting of any of those kitchens would be financially better to source your own however as stated earlier, fitting is key. you can make a £500 kitchen look a million dollars and you can also make a £50k one look like a fisher price model all depends on fitter!

    Hi Anon

Would I be right in thinking that you would like a new kitchen to be designed properly and that it would make use of every bit of available space?

If so then I really don't think that a Howdens or Magnet trade kitchen would give the versatility of available unit sizes to achieve this.

I would suggest a decent Independent that does a middle market German brand of kitchen as I often design small and normally awkward kitchens for customers, they are always amazed at how much we can fit in there without it looking cramped. This is because the kitchen is made to fit the available space rather than choosing units from a very limited menu of standard sizes.

If you are looking to save money couldn't you look at buying a kitchen units from somewhere and getting a local fitter to plan and fit?

Trust me, everyone will deal with you! Shed or independent.

If you have ceilings lower than about 2200 I would suggest that independents would give you more unit flexibility, but if not anyone that sells kitchens would do.

The key to it is getting a designer you can work with and good fitters. These are not the exclusive preserve of independents whatever some on here would have you believe.

you kitchen is by no means small.
I have fitted much smaller than that.

if you contact at least three local kitchen companies/fitters and tell them your needs an requirements, they will be able to cater for all your needs.

In my experience, the bigger the companies are, the higher the overheads and less personal it becomes.

A good place to start is to decide on your budget then take it from there..
see what each will give you for your money.

my own personal philosophy is, try to source as many uk made parts as possible..the quality is good and the price is reasonable.
cda appliances are a good example.
the cupboards should be 18mm thick with pvc or abs edging for durability.
the units should incorporate dowels as well as eccentric cams..do NOT settle for carcases which have only been screwed together as these are grossly inferior.

hope this helps and good luck :)
