Beware cheap MOT deals?

I set them up first in front of a wall, on main beam, to get them straight ahead. Bright spot directly in front of the headlight, both sides. Usually by eye is enough, but you can measure the distance between them to check. Same with the height, set on main beam to be the same height as the headlight. Then I take it out in the dark, and check the main beam is square down the road, and not too high or too low, in the trees or shining on the ground. Finally I check the dip beam brightspot is pointing onto the edge of the road, and shining where I expect it to on the road ahead. I've only ever had to do this when I've changed the reflectors, or bought the car and they've been out, and once set, they seem to stay put as I've never set them again. The Vauxhall is how it left the factory 8 years ago.0

If you google headlight alignment mot there seems to be a big increase in mot failures for this issue alongside an increase in 1/2 price mots? Erm think I will buy a 1960 banger then I avoid the mot and car tax![/QUOTE]
Did it mention the increasing proliferation of speed bumps and humps along with the increase in MOT failures for headlamp alignment? Round my way the humps are vicious at any speed and local MOT testers blame them for shaking the lamps out of alignment, usually downwards.0
