Hi, wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have bags and bags of GOOD quality clothes I would like to donate to third world countries which will help quite a few villages but all the chariities I look at seem to take a cut and sell on. Does anyone know of anybody/charity that takes these out direct?
Thanks

I'm not saying you won't find any charities which do this, but in many cases it is not economical to take clothes to the third world, and actually counter productive.

The freight costs are huge. The import costs on arrival can be huge. There may already be a thriving clothes making industry locally which would be adversely affected.

Why not sell on ebay or at one of these places that pays for clothing then donate the proceeds to a charity that works in the area you're interested in?

Are you also going to donate some money to cover packing, shipping and distribution costs?

Depending on what clothes you've got, here's a webpage that lists down a few initiatives that use second hand clothes directly in their work.
