Our garden has some baldy patches near the path with being walked over and where the tap has run over the grass. One patch has a bit of moss on it. I was going to go to b & q to buy seed. Can anyone tell me how to prepare the existing grass.
When can I plant the seeds ?

I think you've probably missed the boat for patching for this summer now, the best times are generally spring and late autumn.
I patched a large area, but need to fill a few patches still in the autumn. I rakes the area, then seeded, then added a light covering of compost and topsoil.
The trick to get the seed germinating is to keep the ground damp, hence why its difficult to get it growing at this time of year.0 -
I mix seed in with damp compost in a plasic bag every day give it a good shake up,in a couple of days you will see the grass sprout ,Place were you want it on some more compost and keep watered. workerd for me0
