Wood rotting on our porch, worth tidying up?

Hi

We have a wooden panelled porch, and while we want to get it replaced with a nice clean UPVC one to match our windows, we're not quite there with the funds....

in advance of that, and given that the current paint chip and wood rot is making our house look manky, is it worth us cleaning it up in some way?

i am not looking for total solutions, but if i sand it down and re-paint it, it might make it look a bit cleaner for the summer?

any advice on what i would need to do for the best job (keep it cheap, as we hope to replace it in ~12 months)

well you could burn the paint off and give it a few coats of undercoat/gloss.
or if the wood is that bad, then cut pieces of say cheap hardboard to size.
then paint them both sides and fix them in place. adhesive and nailed/screwed.
they wont last that long outside, but theyll last a year.
hardboard is really cheap to buy in 8x4 sheets.
    Get some gorm.
