Tesco 'Bay - Tesco Marketplace ?

I have heard through the grapevine that Tesco are to provide a service with which they hope to provide a degree of rivalry to Ebay and Amazon Marketplace.

A friend of a friend said get some shares it's going to be huge and take Tesco selling in a big new direction.

I can't find any reference to it anywhere on the web, anyone know anything and if so is it worth a punt ?

Been running since mid April doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in my opinion and very few resellers.Doubt it will ever rival the likes of Amazon/Play etc.

I think it is very hard for anyone to try to displace Ebay when they have such a dominant position. As a seller I want the maximum number of buyers to see my items to get the best price. Going anywhere other than Ebay or Amazone won't give that.

I guess you could buy shares in Tesco in the hope they recover but if they do I would guess it is from other ventures not this.

yes, tesco is such a big company that any new venture would have to grow massively to make a noticeable impact.
