Buildings and contents insurance for 1st time buyer

We are currently in the process of buying our first house, we'll be exchanging contracts soon. Part of the conditions of the mortgage state that our solicitor has to look over the buildings incurance and approve it before exchange can take place. My question is that how do i go about insuring the house when I'm not in it yet. I've got some reasonable looking quotes from various websites but do I insure it and put my current house (my parents home) as the correspondence address and ring up and change that once we have moved or should I ring up the insurers, possibly forfeiting online discounts/quidco cashback etc. and arrange it over the phone and explain the situation to them?
Thanks!
Thanks!
