Future cost of changing name on title deeds

Hi, Looking for some advice for a friend. She has recently separated and is in the process of transferring the title deeds to her name. However, the deeds will be in her married name and I wondered if she will incur a further charge when she reverts back to her maiden name.

Would it be wiser to ask her solicitor to change the name on her deeds to her maiden name now?

I bought my house alone then got married, and in the process, changed my first name too so did a stat dec. Now I'm selling the house, so obviously the name on the deeds is totally different to my legal name - the solicitors asked for the stat dec to evidence the name change, that's all. A statutory declaration is free to make. (getting new passport, etc, not free!)

If she knows she will revert to her maiden name, then yes, it would make sense to do so now.

On the other hand if she has children she may not revert to her maiden name, or if she simply prefers her married name she may continue to use that. She is allowed to, whether the ex husband likes it or not. (My OH's ex wife prefers to use his surname and one of my friends has two ex wives still using his surname.)
