Santander / RBS

Ok! This starting to worry me a little? Anyone else?
My RBS account will soon be come a Santander account.
I have few concerns about Santander as I'm always reading bad things about them on here and have problems in the past with a saving account I have with them.
But thats not my main concern. In the town I work there are already 2 Santander branches very close to each other and soon there will be 3. And there are 2 Santander branches next to each other in manchester with a RBS branch next to that.
Surely they can't have that many branches. I don't trust that they are sensible.

Dumfries has 2 which are next door to each other, once they have bought as many customers as possible they will start the branch closures and job losses.
My B&B accounts were sold to abbey/santander but as I had a previous experience of their poor service they provide I moved my accounts to some British building societies.I have a deep burning indifference0 -
Open a new account with another bank. Natwest will probably offer you the same account as RBS under another name if that's what you want.
Then once the new account is set up and running you can set up any new payments/scheduled transfers from the new account and cancel the ones from the old account and not risk missed payments in the transfer process.0
