has anyone used public transport to get to Liverpool airport?

I'm trying to sort out transport to and from liverpool airport, but its becoming a saga! Getting there doesn't seem to be too bad, train from north wales to Liverpool South Park and then bus or taxi. Coming back is an entirely different story as the flight gets in at 11.330pm. Now if i'd been careful, i would have checked these minor, but importnant detials before booking. However i saw £50 return flights to Palma and jumped in as quick as i could! As there are no trains at this time of night, its looking like an over-night stay somewhere (but where as i have no car!) or a hefty taxi bill. Don't fancy either as i'm travelling with young children, but appreciate that my options are limited!!!

I'd really appreciate any advice, hints or tips.

Thanks!

You could always pay £8 for the Terravison bus (website) at 0015 to Manchester...they have cheaper hotels there...also check Ebay for accom in Manchester and Liverpool esp Travelodge, as there are plenty...just the dates, and Laterooms as there are rooms for £25 at the mo...Train at that time from Parkway to Manchester is 2353 but I dont think will make it. There are prob better options...I did the same as you a few year ago...was gutted and I live near BPool.

Thanks, i'm sorted now. For anyone coming across this thread in a google search, who's in a similar predicament.....i booked a £29 room at the liverpool airport premier inn (+ £8 for an all you can eat hot breakie, with kids eating free!!). They don't have a suttle service, but do have affiliations to a local taxi firm. The fare is £2. Not bad :)

    Happy holidays!!!

Take the kids to Speke Hall before leaving for the train in the morning. They'll love it.
