Strangely a couple of days after posting I noticed white in DD's (12) hair. I thought she had not rinsed her hair properly after washing it and had some shampoo or conditioner left in it. Even though her hair is blonde it was quite noticeable and one of the girls in school commented to her that she suffered from dandruff too. So last night I told DD to use OH dandruff shampoo and to give her hair an extra rinse when she showered. After she dried her hair I had a good look and it's quite big flakes of skin in her hair. Her scalp looks fine and there are no red patches but it's like a layer of skin has come off into her hair - it reminds me of a school friend who had psoriasis.

Try getting some 'doublebase' cream from the pharmacy. I believe you can buy it over the counter. My baby had the same problem for ages and in one day it was fixed after applying this cream.

... if I have learnt anything it is A) trust your instincts. B) ask for help from others C) don't always presume "doc knows best"(he was misdiagnosed and had to take a potentially damaging medicine) and finally D ) act sooner rather than later.......

absolutely agree with all your points there! I'm really pleased your little boy is responding to treatment... I hope he is all better soon...
