Afternoon all.
I booked a villa in January for my hen do in Chayofa. 10 girls all ready to let our hair down before my wedding in December.

today I have an e-mail from the lady I booked the villa with...she has SOLD IT!!..so now I am stuck.

flights all booked and no where to go!
PLEASE HELP ME FIND A VILLA for 16th November - 20th November for 10 people.

Feeling quite stressed now. We only paid £540 for the original villa, and no more budget to increase the price..even self catering apartments seem to be more expensive

Z

I suggest you send her (the villa owner) a pleasant reply saying that you have made firm arrangements for your holiday, and ask her to help find somewhere nearby. The simplest solution would be for her to transfer your booking to the new owner of the villa: ask her if she can do this. Otherwise, ask if she knows the owners of other properties nearby and could introduce you to them.

If she cannot find an acceptable solution like this, I'm sure that you have rights but other people know the law better than me. One suggestion: edit your post to remove the story about the flights, which is not relevant to your problem now.

the villa was costing you £13 a night each,£54 in total, surely between now and November there is scope for each of you to save up a bit more so you can afford somewhere that costs more if that's all that's available? Even £1 a week each gives you about £800 to play with.

I also think that you should be legally protected, after all you made a contract with her to provide your accomadation.

I have a feeling you may have to up your budget in order to find something else! I've looked at a few different sites and can only up with this, which is in Tenerife, but not Chayofa and it's £ 944

I'd never heard of it either and looking at the description of it I would think that accommodation for a group of 10 may be hard to find.

    Thanks all.
I don't even care where we stay in Tenerife as long as its near Los Cristianos or Playa De Las Americas so we can go out and have a boogey.

She was charging £135 per night for all of us, so yea £13.50 pppn.

I am getting married 2 weeks later and everyone will have a hotel bill so I can't really expect them to pay more...Might have to book into a cheap b&b somewhere.

ohhhhh why on earth didn't i just do a hen night in the local!

If you don't get anywhere with the apartment owner... How about the Chayofa Country Club: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/chawofa-country-club.en.html

Through booking.com you can book the following:

Room 1: one bedroom apartment, 3 adults
Room 2: one bedroom apartment, 3 adults
Room 3: two bedroom apartment, 4 adults

.... All for €540, which is around £450. You could even get it cheaper, by having 3 x one bedroom apartments, but for the small extra amount, the 2 bedroom apartment would give you some extra space for the room of four girls.

    Hi
Do you actually know anything about Chayofa or where it is and what's there?

Chayofa is not near los c or las americas, you couldn't walk to los c or las americas from it, and there's nothing do up there in the hills, it's very quiet, it's a village in the hills behind los cristianos, and there are a lot of ex-pats live up there. Also the weather can be a couple of degrees cooler day and night, than down in the resorts.

If your looking at partying each night, in the bars and wanting to go the beach, it's going to cost you to get from Chayofa to these areas which means phoning 3 taxi's (which will cost you) or waiting for buses, which only run during the day, and god only knows when they come along.

Then where are you going to eat?, there's only a couple of restaurants, spread out in chayofa, and no such bars, if you want to go shopping for food when you get there again your going to get a taxi, down to las americas to go the supermarket and then back again.

I wouldn't want to be stuck up there for 4 days partying, it's too quiet and way way out of where 10 girls should be.

You've just said you don't care where you stay, so stay where you should be,
in las americas, it's not that rowdy and you will be near some lovely bars and restaurants and the beach. Your only there for 4 nights, so be in the centre.

I go 3 times a year. I'll be there same time as you as well. I can help you out with cheap bars and eating out places.

How about 2 bungalows, in the heart of las americas, at the los cardones £265 each bungalow.
    or
    the oro blanco hotel
    2 x 2 bedroom apts for £205 total £410
the above are available to be booked on travelrepublic.co.uk
I would be happy staying in any of the above.

    Hi
    lowcostholidays
have 3 rooms in the tinerfe garden, these are nice s/c apts, in a nice location with great bars around, not in the boom boom area, but not far away.

Total cost for 3 rooms is £413

Good info there from SaintChris, sounds like the cancellation could be a blessing in disguise for the OP if they hadn't done their research beforehand!
