Product Recall on Second Hand Car Question

GF is about to buy a second hand Corsa (08). I see they were subject to a recall back in November 2011. Been in contact with Vauxhall and they say the car is still outstanding to be done.
Question is, should the second hand dealer get it sorted before it's sold or is it down to the owner to get it fixed once the car is bought?
Many thanks.

Does it matter, surely the cost is covered by the manufacturer whoever sorts it.

I wasn't asking who pays (I know it's free) I was asking who was responsible for dealing with it.

There is no "responsibility" prescribed. Unless its a Vauxhall dealer or a trader next door, they're not going to go to the hassle of sorting this out pre-sale. Sometimes it can take weeks for a car to get booked in and fixed for a recall, and as it will be foc, not a priority for the seller.

Ok thanks. That makes sense. I guess it can take weeks for a recall to be done because it's free.

Upto you, Negotiate for the garage to get it done before you accept the car. As above though risking them taking a while to sort it.

Or buy it and arrange it yourself at your convenience.

Depends what the recall is for. Safety issue or minor one?
