I went in to the branch of my bank last week and spoke to someone in more detail about it and explained that I have good history with them...they told me that they couldn't give me a credit card still but said they did not know the main reason as to why I was being refused...Told me to keep on doing what I'm doing, maybe use my current account a bit more and then try again in a few months..0

Unless things have changed radically over the last 12 months that is my experience too.
When I was last rejected for a card I was told I did not meet their scoring, when I asked them why I was told 'we cannot tell you as it is commerically sensitive'
BTW, only go near a credit builder card if you know that you will pay off the amount you spend the same month or maybe the following month otherwise you will end up owing far more in interest.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0 -

have you checked your credit record? I suspect they did with you the same as me, pretended to be accommodating but in fact treated you as a new customer (disregarding your current history with them) and solely regarded credit scoring for your application. something may be missing from your credit record, check for free on noddle.co.uk. you could also try the free equifax and experian trials as well to get the full picture...Oh, you wee bazza!0 -

I have checked my credit score and it was basically right in the middle at 'fair'..I told him if my history with them disregarding my actual credit history counted for anything and they told me no...I have a free trial with experian at the moment, that is how I checked my score after I had been rejected0 -

I am curious.... If I decide to use my credit card instead of my debit card to do a small amount of money transfer through Western Union, will it count as purchase? or as a withdrawal from a cash machine?

Capital One Classic is good, you should get accepted for it, is is a manageable £300 limit and I found their customer service to be impeccable."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."
