Leak when using air conditioning
Options
I recently bought a Citroen Xsara Exclusive which came with a 12 month warranty. Last week I got stopped by someone and informed my car is leaking. I have noticed when I turn the air conditioning on I sometimes get a gush of clear liquid followed by fast drips.
I took it back to the garage today who said it is normal its just the overflow pipe and most cars will leak sometimes when using the air conditioning. I never noticed this on my old picasso though.
Does anyone know if this is correct or if I'm being palmed off?

Someone kindly pointed out the pool of water under my Nissan one hot day.
Its condensation coming from the aircons cooling unit. It works just like a fridge, so its normal. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Whether you see the water, which is normal, depends on the routing of the aircon pipework. If routed under sump shields etc the water may not reach the ground.0

It is normal, just condensation.0

Condensation drain from your air conditioning, perfectly normal. It's not leaking, as the water doesn't come from your car, it is water vapour in the air condensing on the refrigerant pipes or evaporator coils. Air conditioning dehumidifies the air and on very humid days it can remove up to a litre of moisture per hour.0

As others have said, it's perfectly normal.
But if you're still worried, keep an eye on the water level in your expansion tank/header tank for a few days just in case."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Your losing nothing, it's just condensation that builds up on the outside of the cold portion of the system. I had two Picassos and it was normal to see this.0
