Articles for the blind..

Brought an item of clothing off ebay..

Received it this morning in an "article for the blind" envelope.

Surely they shouldn't be used for posting ebay items? I've read the royal mail bit but don't really understand it.

Can anyone clear this up?

Was it sent without paying postage or have they used an 'article for the blind' envelope but stuck stamps on it?

If they have not paid for the postage this is not what this service is meant for

I would tell RM if they have been misusing the service.

    You mean bought.

It's not really that difficult, this was an abuse of the service, it is only intended for sending items that help and aid the blind.

No postage sticker on top. Thanks Martindow.

Bris, please don't talk to me like I'm stupid. I wasn't aware this was an English class. I wasn't sure because it doesn't mention "any other items". I did not know if it was standard that it could be used if the person sending was registered partially sighted/blind. Which is why I asked for advice before going in with the wrong information.

Articles for the blind mail is purely for articles for the blind
    brail newspapers,talking books etc
thats why all AFB items should be sent unsealed
I'm surprised your item didnt get stopped and charged
I would more inclined to contact RNIB,though its wouldnt hurt to inform RM

    Yeah I'm suprised too.

Was in a clear bag in the envelope but none of it looked like it had been opened. It was nothing that could be mistaken for anything you've mentioned.

Ill send an email or something to both.

    Thanks for your advice Custardy
